At First Christian Church, we are a group of REAL PEOPLE who have found REAL LIFE in Jesus—and we want other real people to find this real life too. That’s why we’ve developed the FCC Discipleship Pathway, built around the biblical model of “Go and Be.”

Our simple, intentional model—Follow, Connect, Contribute—invites every believer to move beyond passive attendance and into active discipleship, where everyday people grow in faith and become disciple-makers.

This pathway reflects the pattern Jesus gave us in Matthew 28:19: “Go and make disciples.” Jesus’ model calls us to reach others with His love, walk alongside them in spiritual growth, and equip new leaders to carry the gospel forward.

Now, it’s our turn—to live on mission with Him.

Our Disciple-Making Pathway provides a simple and intentional process to help you take your next step. We’ve identified four Pathway Markers—Investigator → New Believer → Growing Disciple → Disciple-Maker—to help each person see where they are in their walk with Jesus and take their next step in faith.

FOLLOW JESUS ON HIS MISSION

Whether you're exploring faith or beginning a new life with Jesus, the first step is clear: follow Jesus on mission, being baptized and allowing Him to transform your life.  Like the first disciples, we’re called to follow and live with gospel intentionality.  Mark 1:17–18 (CSB) “Follow me,” Jesus told them, “and I will make you fish for people.”

WHAT ARE MY NEXT STEPS:

  • Meet with a Pastor, staff member, Elder or believer to learn more about following Jesus
  • Be baptized and Start “You Said Yes” 21 Day Study 
  • Attend Sunday worship services
  • Sign Up for a First Step class
  • Join a Life Group or other Adult Groups
  • Sign up for Trust and Follow Jesus (8 Week Class | 3 Times a Year)

CONNECT WITH OTHERS TO GROW

Growth happens best in authentic community. Jesus didn’t just call individuals—He built the Church to help us grow together. As Matthew 28 reminds us, we’re called to “teach them to obey everything He commanded.” Disciples grow by connecting with others around God’s Word, prayer, accountability, and a shared mission.

  • Sign up for a Next Steps class
  • Take the Spiritual Gifts Assessment
  • Join a Life Group, D-Group, Sunday School, or ABF
  • Begin a daily Bible reading plan
  • Find a mature believer who will help you practice spiritual disciplines through one-on-one mentoring

This step equips maturing disciples to serve, lead, and invest in the next generation of disciple-makers. It’s about using your God-given time, talents, and resources.

  • Become a Disciple Maker and start sharing the Gospel with others
